Gel is brushed onto your natural nail and cured under UV/LED for a flexible, natural look. Builder gel can add strength or create extensions. Acrylic is a powder-and-liquid mixture built into a hard extension.
Acrylic nails and builder gel nails typically last 2-3 weeks before needing a fill. We recommend a fill at the 2.5- to 3-week mark to prevent lifting and stress breaks.
Wear gloves when cleaning or doing dishes, avoid using your nails as tools (to open cans, peel stickers, etc.), moisturize your cuticles daily with cuticle oil, and avoid prolonged water exposure.
Professional removal is always best. We file down the top layer, let them soak in acetone, and then gently remove the product. Never peel or rip them off, as this will strip layers of your natural nail.
When applied and removed correctly by a trained professional, the damage is minimal. Damage usually occurs from improper removal (peeling) or skipping fills, which can cause water to become trapped under lifted product and lead to bacterial growth.
